Welcome to the Liverpool Urology Appliance Management Service (LUAMS)

This is a new NHS service that will now look after the prescription and ordering of urology products for people living in the area covered by Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). Urology products include all indwelling / suprapubic catheters; intermittent catheters; sheaths; leg bags, night bags and associated accessories.

The Liverpool Urology Appliance Management Service (LUAMS) has been set up to enhance the care that people using urology products receive. Having your urology prescriptions provided by a centralised service, run by a team of specialist urology nurses, will mean that you will be able to access the right clinical support when you need to. Your prescriptions will be authorised by our specialist urology nurses, who will be able to ensure that you are ordering and using the best products for your particular needs.

You will also be offered an appointment at our clinic or, if appropriate, in your own home to review the urology products that you use. This is called an “appliance use review”.
