How the Service Works
How to order your prescriptions

Step One
Your dedicated personal advisor will call you on a monthly basis to take your order, alternatively, we can contact you by email if that is what you would prefer.

Step Two
They will review your last order and conduct a stock check. You will then be asked three health and product-related questions to ensure your products are meeting your needs.

Step Three
The customer advisor will place your order and arrange for your prescription to be sent to a dispenser of your choice, for example, a dispensing appliance contractor (you may know this as a home delivery company), or a local pharmacy. Alternatively, it can be sent to your home address and you will be responsible for picking up your products. If we send your prescription to your dispenser of choice, they will deliver your products within a week of receiving your prescription.
Introducing the LUAMS Nurse Service

Our team of specialist urology nurses can give you advice and support to help you with your condition and the urology products that you use. Our nurses will provide appropriate treatment, and give you advice on urology products, to make sure your repeat prescription needs are met.
As part of the LUAMS service, you will be offered an appointment with the nurses to review the urology products that you use. This “appliance use review” is part of the new service introduced by Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group for obtaining your urology prescriptions and it will ensure that you are using the most appropriate products for your condition. This appointment will either be at our clinic or, if appropriate, at your own home.
Our nurse service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), so you can be sure that you are getting the best quality and level of care. The CQC regulate all health and social-care services. They monitor the quality and safety of health care in hospitals, dentists, ambulances and care homes, and the care given in people’s own homes. For more information on the CQC, visit their website at www.cqc.org.uk
Emergency supplies

If you urgently need any products, phone us on 0800 031 5414 so that we can arrange for a prescription to be sent to a dispenser of your choice straightaway. LUAMS offers a 24/7 emergency same day delivery service (inclusive of weekends and bank holidays) via a manned emergency helpline which can be accessed via the Freephone number above.
Feedback on the LUAMS service
LUAMS is a pilot service commissioned by Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). We are constantly striving to improve our service and would appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete our survey. Your feedback will also help the CCG to evaluate the pilot service and inform future commissioning decisions.
